THAWWW - Treasure Hunting and Water With Wine!

Hello fellow treasure hunters!  This past weekend ended up to be a real hit!  The team of "Rusty Nails" converged at the Ranch Robblowski for some metal detecting, geo-caching, drinking, eating and hot tubbing.

We got our drink on with some jello shots and triple vodka paralyzers..mmmmmmm......

Now grab your hats girls and let's get busy!

To become a "Rusty Nail" one must have a big floppy hat!  NO EXCEPTIONS!

We started our day visiting geocaching.com and downloading coordinates in our area.  There are four that were supposed to be on our road.  Due to a Relay for Life one of the Rusty Nails was missing until later that day.  Here we are to start the day:

Jennifer the Organizer

DeAnne the Driver

Jill the Navigator

For those that don't know what geo-caching is, it's pretty simplistic.  You download coordinates on your GPS, follow the coordinates, find the cache, take an item, fill out the log, leave an item.....repeat as necessary.

Here are pictures of our findings:
Our trusty GPS!

This looks innocent!  A rock beside a sign post?

A-HA!  Our trained eyes have found the cache!!

Two happy treasure seekers!  What could be inside the cache?

Uh, what the........?

A frickin plastic snowman?!!
Ok geo-cachers.  Really?!  Not exactly treasure.  I'm not sure what I was expecting but I can tell you that a beat up old crappy plastic snowman is NOT what I had in mind.  Sigh.....

My friend Susan could not be here for this event but she works for the government and provided us with an awesome collection of pins and a Saskatchewan map.  We took one of the parcels apart because there just wasn't room to leave the package in that container.  So, we took out a tiger lily pin, signed our names "The Rusty Nails" on the log and left our pin inside.

Putting in our cache as promised!

After this we were anxious to get on to the next cache.  We had three more to locate.  We tried finding another one no no avail.  Our coordinates must not have been correct.   We tried finding another one, again our coordinates were wrong.  After getting bored and frustrated we decided to head home and do some REAL treasure hunting!

(Top up with more jello shots and booze!)

Meanwhile back at the Ranch................

Jenn pinpointing

DeAnne and Jenn looking for buried treasure!  What have we found?!

A big rusty bolt! Cha-Ching!

One, one mystery item ah, ah, ah

Jill, this is an old tractor part....it's not made of chocolate and you can't eat it.

As promised!  A Rusty Nail!

Horse Tackle

A couple rusty bolts!

A big spring!

A cap off of something.......

Rusty crap and some spilled paralyzer.....whoops....

As the day wore on, it was time to call it quits.  We had great success on the working part of our day.  We did some geo-caching which I think we will try again sometime.  Maybe we'll be a little better prepared and may find more success.

Time to have some supper and hit the fire pit.

Fire-pitting

Sunday: Hot-Tubbing and a nice long country walk.
