Jr. Treasure Hunter

This weekend's quest takes us back the the ol' homestead.  My nephew Austin is here for two weeks so I thought I'd keep him busy looking for meteorites and farm treasure.  We got on the quads and headed out to the hayfield.

I believe that every kid needs a hobby.  I mean a real hobby.  Not PS3, watching TV shows or other mindless non-creative crap that all kids seem to love today.  There could be a potential reward here!  It's fun, you get outside, you may find something cool.  There's lots to this!  So get your ass off the couch and get out there looking for old stuff in your yard, in a friends yard or somewhere else you can find random treasures! - just make sure before you go on someone else's property, you get permission.
.

This is the first thing Austin has ever found.  We still don't know what it is:

Just a pipe of some kind.

A Rusty Nail!  Nobody is safe from the rusty nails!

Another horse thing?  - we really should look some of this stuff up.

Another pipe!

Random crap.

So, we found some pliers......
No meteorites today.  We did have an intelligent conversation regarding meteorites.  We were discussing how cool it was to find something that has been in outer space.  Then Austin asks me if it could be aliens mining on other planets and throwing rocks at us......like an invasion.  I don't know Austin, but you make me laugh.

What a great weekend, lots of digging and my shoulders and arms are sore.  We will be going to Fuddruckers for belly filling, treasure hunting meat with liquid cheese.  Yummy!

TTFN Friends!
